Who We
Are:
Big Gumdrop Outdoors is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in Lincoln, Nebraska, dedicated to educating underserved youth about nature. Through hands-on activities that immerse youth in Nebraska's natural environment and teach essential wilderness skills, we inspire the next generation to explore the outdoors and consider careers in natural resources.
Fall Events are Coming!
Join us this Fall!
September: Fish 'n Fire
Close out the fishing season with us at Bowling Lake on Sep 25th! Cast a line, reel in some memories, and then gather around the fire for s’mores and a free dinner. This family-friendly night is the perfect way to wrap up our outdoor fishing events for the year.
October: S'mores and Gourds
Celebrate fall at the Pioneers Park Nature Center with pumpkins, treats, and a little bit of movie magic! Families are invited to enjoy s’mores, carve pumpkins, and soak up the autumn atmosphere. Stick around after sunset for a free outdoor showing of E.T..
November: Ag and Farm Animal Discovery
Step into Nebraska’s agricultural roots for an evening of hands-on discovery! Meet real farm animals, enjoy immersive ag-focused activities, enjoy free dinner and Dairy Store ice cream, and more!
December: Nature Craft Night
Get creative with us as we bring nature indoors for a night of crafting! Families will make seasonal crafts, build duck boxes, and enjoy special snacks together.
