Who We
Are:

Big Gumdrop Outdoors is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in Lincoln, Nebraska, dedicated to educating underserved youth about nature. Through hands-on activities that immerse youth in Nebraska's natural environment and teach essential wilderness skills, we inspire the next generation to explore the outdoors and consider careers in natural resources.

Summer Events are Here!

Join us all Summer long!

​June: Paddling in the City

Join us on June 26th from 6-8 pm at Oak Lake to explore paddling and kayaking! We will be joining the Lincoln Paddle Co for  a night on the water, dinner, and other fun games! All equipment and food will be provided. 

July: Cops 'n Bobbers

On July 26th, from 10 am - 1 pm, join BGO, Lincoln Police Department, and Nebraska Game and Parks Conservation Officers for an exciting event at Holmes Lake, Shelter 3. Fish alongside local police and conservation officers while creating memories and connections. Come whenever you are able! Lunch and equipment provided. 

August: Third Annual Community Lake Day

On August 8th, celebrate the end of summer with some outdoors fun! We will be in the Shelter 3 area at Holmes Lake Park from 6-8 pm. Join BGO and local community partners to engage in fishing, kayaking, activity booths, dinner and s'mores, and more! Dinner and equipment provided. 

We’re thrilled to offer these opportunities to the Lincoln community and can’t wait to inspire the next generation of outdoor explorers. Let’s have some fun, connection, and lifelong memories!
